I just wanted to the clinic in Warsaw and also to say thank you to the Ouch My Tooth website.
After almost 8 months and 5 trips to Warsaw, my treatment with Dr. Katarzyna Loza-Soltyk and Dr. Krzysztof Soltyk's clinic, finished this past week. And I am very happy with the results!
My story starts as a teenager, for many years I did not brush my teeth regularly and drank a lot of soft-drinks, which rotted my teeth. The result, as a man in my late twenties, was that I was very embarrassed to smile or laugh and I suffered from tooth ache on a regular basis. So back in April of this year I took the decision to do something about it, 1. to improve my general oral health and 2. so that I could smile and laugh with my friends without worrying about how my teeth looked.
My next problem was where to go. I knew I could not get the treatment I required here in Ireland, because dentistry is more expensive here than anywhere else in Europe and probably only second in the world to the USA. In searching the internet for information on an alternative, I found the Ouch My Tooth site and read Asger's story and saw the different dentist's they recommended around Europe. I decided this was the site to help me.
Living in Dublin, I'm lucky enough to have the choice to go to many destinations around the continent with cheap direct flights. I decided that Warsaw and the clinic of Dr. Loza-Soltyk and Dr. Soltyk would suit me the best. I contacted Ulla and she set up my first appointment for my visit in May. I was impressed with the facilities of their modern clinic, far nicer than any dentist clinic I've visited in Dublin. Bright, airy, music playing and it's fresh and tidy. Almost more like a coffee shop than a dentist clinic!!! (Since my first visit they have moved next door to a bigger premises, which is even nicer). My dentist, Dr. Loza, gave me a full check up, did a panoramic x-ray and outlined the amount of work required over the coming months. His English is excellent and explained everything perfectly, so I felt very comfortable. After one visit I met another patient, a young Polish woman, who works in the Irish Embassy in Warsaw. I had said to her that I'm no expert, but after a number of visits I was very impressed with the professionalism and helpfulness of the staff and I asked what sort of reputation the clinic has locally. She said to me that it has a reputation as one of the best dental clinics in Warsaw. So I was even happier with the decision I had made. Over the coming months I was to have 10 root canals, 5 extractions, 4 implants, numerous fillings, whitening of my remaining teeth and all the other preparation work required in order to have 10 crowns and 4 crowns on implants fitted last week. I spent many hours in the dentist chair with a lot of hard work by Dr. Loza, Dr. Soltyk and the rest of the team and I can say it was all worthwhile. My teeth look great and my friends and family are all very impressed with the results and I'm learning to smile again :) As I did not really know what to expect, I took a bit of a gamble to go to Warsaw for so much dental work, but it has really paid-off. I'm the big winner for taking a decision that was not a risk after all. I didn't just save thousands of euro, I saved ten's of thousands and received the best quality of dental work. Also as Poland is now a member of the EU, the Irish government will help to pay some of the total cost of treatment through Social Insurance benefit and Income Tax relief.
It seems to funny to say it, but over the coming months I will miss not going to Warsaw and to my dentist. I don't think there are many people, who actually like their dentist, but I do! I will return for a check up and any future dental work I require. So thank you very much Katarzyna, Krzysztof, Krzysztof and the rest of the team and thank you OuchMyTooth for giving me a second chance. |
